My top 5 apocalyptic dreams

I know it's boring listening to other people's dreams but last night's was a spectacular rareity and it reminded me of others I had when I was younger, all with an apocalyptic theme…

Great balls of fire
One of my most memorable dreams ever and right at the top of my list. I dreamt I was at the Kingswinford School in the playing field and these huge balls of fire came thundering down from the sky. All the kids were running away from them. I ran up to one of the school doors to get away but another massive fire-ball came down, hit the floor and then came straight for me. I woke up with a start. What a strange kid!

Bomb the bass
Quite similar to the last one, this dream took place at the same school. This time the school dinner hall, was being bombed by low-flying aircraft. I never did like school dinners.

Hell hath no fury
When I was young I had quite a disturbing dream which I later thought of as a vision of hell. Not that I believe in heaven or hell. Maybe my imagination got the better of me in C of E schools.

My dream took place inside a kind of gated castle. There were moats and bridges everywhere except instead of containing water the moats were made of fire. They were, literally, fiery pits of hell. My school friends were there and they seemed quite happy. One by one they jumped into the fire and I felt like I had to too. Maybe the dream was more about peer pressure than any religious context.

War-torn
Last night I had a really unrestful sleep. I dreamt of a war-torn city where I was a journalist inside the only building left standing which was heavily guarded specially for us journalists. The rest of the city was in ruins and I felt sad that people just like me had to suffer so much.

The chances were a million to one, they said
Straight after the war-torn vision I dreamt of being at a party where things were getting out of control. Someone had driven off in my car and the phone line had been cut in the mayhem. Something caught my eye outside the window so I looked out and saw that there was a solar-eclipse, even though it was night time. I started calling people in the party over to the window, when, out of the dazzling ring of the eclipse came two huge, box-like space-craft which thundered over my house. Immediately after that a circular craft hurtled out of the sky and about ten lights emerged from underneath it and dispersed downwards. They fell with great speed to the ground and exploded into ten seperate back yards from where I heard screams.

I tried to phone someone but of course the phone line was dead. The television transmission was gone and the radio stations were quiet. I had no idea what was happening. All I could do was wait for the aliens to come.
