Hello and welcome to Bees n things, my personal website.
It's definitely not a blog as they're mostly boring as hell.
It's just a collection of my stuff, what's going on in my
life and things like that. Just a space to be creative in.

Me so far
I was born big and upside down in Dudley, West Midlands.
Apparently I was loud and outgoing when I was young. My favourite
joke was: "What's red and got pips in it? A telephone
box". I used to tell it to people I didn't know in doctors
waiting rooms!
My other favourite was my bastardisation of the "I know
an old lady who swallowed a fly" song, which I could
never remember the words to, so I made a version which went:
"There was an old lady
and she died!". Tee
hee!
I was indifferent to school. I generally faded into the background
and was a perpetual "Could try harder", C average
pupil. I made some good friends but never fit into any social
groups.
I've always been tall for my age and I now stand at a proud
6'7". It has been, and still is, a big part of my life,
except now I love being tall whereas when I was at school
I hated it.
After attending Kingswinford
School I went from a photography OND, to HND, to a programming
course, to an English A-level and finally to graphic design
which I got my degree in at Swansea.
'Raving' may sound like a cheesy thing to do, but, 'back
in the day' ('91-'94), I was heavily into it and lived for
the weekend. Dancing all night to loud, repetitive music may
sound like an empty existence, but it taught me many important
things about life, love and the pursuit of happiness.
However, dancing like a lunatic and staying up all night
is tiring and as I got older my musical and social taste began
to calm down. Through an earlier love of hip-hop I got into
funk music and became a DJ at Yum Yum in Swansea. I also organised
my own one-off club night called Jellybean.
To get away from Swansea, I decided to move to Brighton for
a summer. I loved it so much that I promised myself I would
move back there. So, after finishing my degree and spending
a summer in America working in the kitchen of Bucks
Rock summer camp, I packed my bags and moved to Brighton,
and I've been here ever since.
After taking a few
crap
jobs
I set up my own business called Sussed
Design, which produces graphic design for ethical organistaions
like Viva!,
People Tree
and PETA
REF.
I went vegetarian when I was 16 and turned vegan at 25 as
my girlfriend at the time, Helen, was vegan. She explained
all the issues to me and I was sold. It was difficult at first
but soon became easy and now I absolutely love it. I've got
some great vegan friends, live in a vegan shared-house and
work for vegan clients.
Other things important to me are my dog, Juju,
a rescued black lab; a carnival band I'm part of called Carnival
Collective; a positive animal rights group that me and
my friends are getting together called Animal
(not ready just yet); DJing
whenever I get the chance, which is not very often; my friends,
family and generally trying to figure this life out!
Well, that's me so far!
