Is it wrong now love is lost?
Is it wrong to kiss her cheek when we meet,
And feel her face, close, next to mine,
Though it may happen now just once a week,
Now love is lost?
Is it wrong to share my troubles with her,
To shed a tear on her shoulder
Like I used to do, but no longer do,
Now love is lost?
Is it wrong to want to touch her, feel her
Body once more, flush against mine,
Warm comfort, and solace from loneliness,
Now love is lost?
Is it wrong to dream of her next to me
In visions so lovely, and wake
Up in tears, when dreams hide the truth: that I
Knew love was lost?

I wrote this quite soon after splitting up with my ex-partner,
Helen (above). It's a bit painful for me to read now and I
wasn't sure whether to put it online or not as I'm quite embarassed
about it. But I think it's important to remember the feelings
and to keep it as something to compare myself to now.
