Roy Ayers

Well, how could I make a site named after Roy Ayers' lyrics without dedicating a page to the man himself!

I went to see Roy Ayers play at Ronnie Scotts last weekend and he was as amazing as ever! His set was the same as the last two times I've seen him but it was still just great to see him. He always does the old classics like 'Running Away' and of course 'Everybody Loves the Sunshine'.

This time I finally got the courage to go and get a CD signed by him. He was a bit miserable, probably cause it was the last night of a three week stint at Ronnie's, but I don't care. It says 'To Simon 30th Happy Birthday - Roy Ayers' - almost right!

His new CD is amazing! It's all previously unreleased stuff from 1976 - 1981. Absolute classic Roy Ayers. Buy it now!

I went up there with my friend Tina who was down from Leicester and met up with friends - Bezz, Sophie, Andy and Jo - had a top weekend, Thanks kids!

Have a look at this quick video clip I managed to snatch (1.8Mb). Listen out for Tina who screamed with laughter all the way through the gig! Love ya for it Tina!
